Our Defense division in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team! This Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design and development of new electrical test equipment, assemblies, and/or processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. You will contribute to the design of test equipment to verify the functional performance of products used on flight controls. You will report to the Engineering Supervisor and enjoy a 9/80 schedule on first shift!

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field + 2 years of relevant experience in a Design, Mechanical, Test or related Engineer role; in lieu of a degree, those with equivalent years of experience will also be considered
  • CAD/Solid modeling and drafting experience is required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying GD&T standards
  • Self-motivated, critical thinking and strong analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Direct industry experience within an aerospace/defense manufacturing environment is strongly preferred!
  • Experience with NX or Teamcenter is also ideal

Responsibilities

  • Operate as key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.
  • Contribute to the development of new test equipment through consulting with internal customers.
  • Design hydraulic / pneumatic schematics to support new test system designs.
  • Integrate hydraulic components into higher level test systems.
  • Prepare, support, and guide the work of Assembly and Test technicians supporting your development activities.
  • Contribute on work estimates for design and development efforts.
  • Maintain engineering records, changes made and effects of changes on performance.
  • Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
  • Shares values of “teamwork is a must” and thus good communication is key.
  • Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.
