About The Position

This role provides technical support to Lead personnel and setup personnel as needed, works on specific engineering projects, has a thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and works with CNC programmers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 yrs. experience working as a CNC Lathe & Mill Programmer from blueprint to first article.
  • Software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, especially related to machining manufacturing methods and featuring.
  • Ability to solve machining problems using proven problem solving methods.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, and Lean Processes.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task, with good organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Applies proven technology independently.
  • Self-starter capable of solving complex problems with little supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Provides accurate and timely programming of all CNC Program Systems and CNC Work Centers as assigned, from blueprint to first article.
  • Provides technical support to Lead personnel and setup personnel as needed, including training on set ups, program changes, as well as assisting in resolving problems to avoid production delays.
  • Insures accuracy of jobs through the shop by identifying and correcting errors and/or changes on prints when needed.
  • Researches and applies knowledge of various materials, insert grades and the tooling required in all machining operations.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and has the ability to interpret drawings.
  • Accurately operates and understands all aspects of multi axis CNC.
  • Provides estimated cycle times to Engineering personnel as requested.
  • Designs fixtures, tools, and dies for all areas of production as assigned. Coordinates with all parties involved.
  • Works with CNC programmers, setup and machine operators to optimize machining processes and tooling.
  • Works on specific engineering projects as assigned by manager.
