About The Position

Teradyne is expanding its centralized mechanical engineering capability in Agoura Hills to support next-generation semiconductor test equipment. This team partners across product development to solve complex mechanical and thermal challenges in high-performance capital equipment, from concept development through integration, verification, and release. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will help design mechanical components, subsystems, and assemblies that enable high-performance semiconductor test platforms used across computing, communications, mobility, and AI infrastructure. This is a development-focused role for an engineer looking to build depth in mechanical design while gaining hands-on exposure to CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, prototype builds, integration, suppliers, manufacturing, and design verification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Typically 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience, or an advanced degree with relevant project experience
  • SOLIDWORKS experience required
  • Solid foundation in mechanical design principles, GD&T, and engineering drawing practices
  • Exposure to structural analysis, tolerance analysis, FEA, prototype builds, or design verification
  • Clear communication and documentation skills with a focus on teamwork and execution
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to ramp quickly, take ownership of assigned work, and collaborate effectively across engineering teams

Nice To Haves

  • PDM or similar data management exposure preferred
  • Experience with semiconductor test equipment, capital equipment, high-density electronics packaging, or PCBA/PCB interface constraints
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes such as machined parts, sheet metal, injection molding, castings, or 3D printing
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, system integration, supplier interaction, or design verification
  • Interest in complex electromechanical systems, electronics packaging, or platform-level product development
  • Experience working in a fast-paced cross-functional engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Support development of mechanical components, subsystems, and assemblies for next-generation semiconductor test equipment
  • Contribute to capital equipment electromechanical design under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Translate high-level requirements into mechanical design concepts with supporting engineering analysis
  • Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SOLIDWORKS
  • Apply GD&T and sound mechanical design practices to support functional and manufacturable designs
  • Support prototype builds, integration activities, functional testing, and design verification
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, thermal, reliability, manufacturing, product, and supplier teams
