About The Position

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join KLA’s Electronics Rack & PDU Engineering Center in Ann Arbor, MI! Our team designs and develops advanced electromechanical assemblies that power high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for KLA products, enabling innovative AI-driven image data processing. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation rack and power distribution solutions aligned with KLA’s compute and rack roadmaps. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong systems-level thinking, and leadership potential, thriving in a fast-paced environment where managing complex projects under aggressive timelines is key.

Requirements

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
Solid foundation in mechanical design and analysis, including solid mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanics of materials, and finite element analysis (FEA).
Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo preferred) and FEA software (Ansys preferred).
Hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly design, ideally at the rack-system level.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Proven track record of driving schedules and deliverables under compressed timelines.
Strong stakeholder communication and relationship-building capabilities.
Knowledge of production processes and experience with install base issue resolution.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with cooling technologies for server racks highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver engineering projects for rack and PDU systems, including high-power rack solutions.
Drive schedules and deliverables, ensuring alignment with program milestones and strategic objectives.
Apply comprehensive design principles to integrate mechanical, electrical, thermal, and regulatory requirements.
Partner with multi-functional teams to develop robust, scalable solutions for HPC infrastructure.
Act as the primary liaison with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
Clearly communicate project status, risks, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
Oversee the transition from design to production, ensuring quality and on-time product shipment.
Solve manufacturing and assembly issues, and resolve field escalations or complex customer requests as needed.
Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to team growth and capability building.
