About The Position

enVista is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and implement automated material handling systems. The role spans the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through installation and commissioning, and includes projects ranging from small components to large-scale conveyor systems. The position is based in a hybrid capacity at enVista’s Willowbrook, Illinois office, with travel of up to 35–40%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5+ years of experience with automated machinery, such as conveyors, robotics, or PLCs.
• Strong mechanical design and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 35–40%.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with systems such as Hytrol, SpanTech, Cognex, and FANUC.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated material handling systems based on customer specifications.
• Evaluate the feasibility of new product integrations with respect to cost and timeline.
• Apply sound engineering practices and leverage vendor relationships to develop innovative solutions.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, coordination, and execution.
• Support Account Managers with technical aspects of business development.
• Create detailed designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Oversee on-site installations, including debugging, testing, and training.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, such as operating procedures, maintenance schedules, and spare parts lists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
