About The Position

We are a team of engineers delivering attractive new capabilities across the supply chain that reduce costs and accelerate growth throughout our business. Our solutions are essential to delivering on Hallmark's top strategic initiatives. We research, design, build, and implement automated equipment and processes unique in the industry and key to our company's continuing success. As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a team of mechanical and electrical engineers responsible for the design and development of original production and fulfillment equipment (electro-mechanical automation). Your roles in implementation, start-up, troubleshooting, modification, documentation, and training will be essential to our success. The work is challenging and involves both self-guided and self-initiated tasks as well as collaboration with the rest of the team and the departments that will receive the completed machines.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an engineering role to demonstrate mastery of the responsibilities outlined

Nice To Haves

Experience designing complex electro-mechanical automation equipment
Experience with robotics and motion control systems utilizing servo motor or pneumatic power
Proficiency in use of CAD systems such as Solid Edge for modeling and drawing creation
Working knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards related to machine guarding and safety requirements
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Success at balancing individual work with team-oriented projects
Characteristically self-motivated and enthusiastic about moving work forward

Responsibilities

Participating in and often driving the conceptualization of solutions, collaboration with peers, specification of performance, and integration within the operating environment.
Creating machine part and assembly drawings as required for fabrication, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
Leading prototyping, troubleshooting, assembly, and executional evaluation.
Accountability for managing capital spending, designing systems, networking with end-users, partnering with external suppliers and consultants, sourcing parts and other components, adhering to aggressive schedules, and working closely with our technician team.
