About The Position

Robson Forensic is seeking a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a Mechanical Engineering degree and over 10 years of experience in the startup, commissioning, maintenance, or operation of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems. This role involves investigating incidents, analyzing engineering procedures, writing reports, and providing expert testimony. The work focuses on determining the cause of incidents related to mechanical building systems, industrial process systems, and fire protection. Typical cases include system benchmarking disputes, project delays, cost overruns, environmental contamination, or property damage. Personal injury cases may involve scalding injuries, carbon monoxide poisonings, or hazardous material exposures. This is a challenging yet intellectually stimulating and rewarding career.

Requirements

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in startup, commissioning, maintenance, or operation of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems, including the design, review, and assessment of facilities/building systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of mechanical building systems, industrial process systems, and fire protection.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, objective evidence for non-technical audiences.
  • A clean background screen.
  • A driver’s license and the ability to drive.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior forensic experience is not required.
