About The Position

Robson Forensic is seeking a Biomechanical Engineer to join their team as a Forensic Investigator. This role involves applying scientific and engineering principles of bioengineering and biomechanics to investigate incidents involving claimed injuries or fatalities. The investigator will analyze and evaluate the technical and scientific aspects of incidents, injuries, and medical device failures, with a focus on determining how and why an injury occurred from an engineering standpoint. The work includes analyzing forces and motions to assess the consistency of alleged injuries with the event. Areas of investigation span vehicle collisions, sports & recreation, occupation, assaults, and falls. This is a challenging, intellectually thrilling, and rewarding experience working alongside nationally respected experts on consequential casework.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in an engineering discipline
  • B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited University
  • Bioengineering/biomechanics experience involving human body kinematics and kinetics or injury research
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, objective evidence for non-technical audiences.
  • A clean background screen
  • A driver’s license
  • Ability to drive

Nice To Haves

  • Prior forensic experience is not required.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) research

Responsibilities

  • Apply scientific and engineering principles of bioengineering and biomechanics to investigate incidents involving claimed injuries/fatalities due to an event.

  • Write clear, scientifically sound reports.
  • Provide expert testimony.
