About The Position

PAE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer II to join our team in a hybrid office environment in Boston. In this role, you will bridge the gap between foundational design and project leadership, taking ownership of mechanical system layouts for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. Working under the direction of a Lead Engineer, you will apply your technical expertise to perform complex load calculations, select equipment, and ensure all project deliverables meet our high standards for quality and precision.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline
Requires a minimum 1-2 years of Mechanical 1 or equivalent experience
Knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate to others
Knowledge of all project phases
Problem solving and analysis
Delegation skills
Organization and attention to detail
Microsoft Office Suite
Revit/AutoCAD

Nice To Haves

Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred

Responsibilities

Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering
Design and plan mechanical system design and layouts under the direction of a lead engineer
Thorough understanding of mechanical distribution, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Energy Modeling
Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications
Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
Application of building codes, industry standards and mechanical engineering design principals
Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements
Interact with clients and other project team members
Support the project lead in developing opinions of probable construction costs
Contribute to site visits and prepare reports
Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
Perform other duties as assigned
