The Raytheon Hardware Engineering Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, missile and combat system equipment. The mechanical team uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s CORE principles. The team’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation. The candidate will report directly to the Multi-Function RF Mechanical Section within the Tactical Radars and Land Based Effectors AUR (TRaLBEAUR) Department. The Department provides mechanical and hardware systems engineering expertise and provides support across locations in California, Texas, and Massachusetts. The candidate will report directly to a Mechanical Design and Production Support section in the department. The mechanical engineer position is to perform research, design, analysis, and development in such areas as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. The position is for the McKinney, Texas location. This position is an onsite role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Physics, Math, or related (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with mechanical subsystems
  • Experience in CAD software
  • Previous intern experience within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
