About The Position

Performs a variety of system design work for medical devices from concept to production. This includes all the related engineering analysis to assure functionality and robustness.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in Mechanical engineering or related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education in electromechanical system development of complex assemblies.
  • Track record of design work on electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong ability to model / draft / detail in SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrate hands on experience with measurement tools, prototyping machines, testing setups, troubleshooting, technical documentations and protocol preparations and reports.
  • Requires engineering and associated scientific knowledge.
  • Ability to use a Personal Computer and software for word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
  • Must have interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities. Must be tactful, mature, and flexible.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or above is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs large and complex product subsystem alongside senior engineers and other product subsystems independently.
  • Controls Engineering Changes and prepares required documentation for Agile release.
  • Works in cross-functional team focused on mechanical, electrical and software design.
  • Develops proof-of-principle hardware to verify concepts prior to prototyping.
  • Prepares project timeline and task lists and hardware costing for assigned projects.
  • Document designs through applicable dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Analyzes experimental results and draws relevant conclusions based on data findings.
  • Drafts notebook studies, verification and validation reports.
  • Troubleshoots products in manufacturing as needed.
  • Models and drafts designs exclusively in SolidWorks within a PDM system.
  • Assist senior engineers to support and guide junior engineers.
  • On a regular basis, communicates with other department personnel providing important information on engineering activities.
  • Attends and participates in group meetings, task force groups, etc., as needed.
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares reports, surveys, research information and any special requests made by senior management.
  • Evaluates field failure reports to determine causes of problems and probability of failures.
  • Assist in implementing methods and procedures for document control and security.
  • Provides engineering support to Instrument Service and Manufacturing.
