We have an exciting opportunity for a position of Mechanical Engineer II located onsite in McKinney, TX. This position is focused on the development, integration, test, and maintenance of on-site factory test systems to support Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) product testing. You will contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams. Typical work involves the development of both engineering and production test equipment, environments, and systems. As such, you will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development for Raytheon test products. They will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test systems. This position is 100% on site in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with generating and updating mechanical models and drawings within an established Configuration Management framework (i.e. cPDM).
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience generating 3D models and engineering drawings in Creo CAD software.
  • Experience in hardware Test Engineering including integration, verification, validation, and maintenance activities within production/manufacturing/product qualification environments.
  • Experience supporting material estimating in support material Bill of Material (BOM) pricing.
  • Experience with the engineering design and release processes, transition to production, and manufacturing process development and maintenance.
  • Experience with Automation Test Equipment development using a Unit Under Test (UUT) or Device Under Test (DUT).
  • Experience developing Test Equipment for production test environments.
  • Knowledge of Electro Optical/ Infrared technology across sensors and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team environment and interact with various engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and system engineers) to develop test equipment solutions for a factory/production environment.
  • Support cradle to grave efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance of special test equipment (STE).
  • Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment while clearly communicating status.
  • Troubleshooting hardware in a test equipment development environment.
  • Independently develop mechanical design packages and present for peer review.
  • Communication with an engineering team, functional and program leadership.
