About The Position

Marotta Controls is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development within the Power / Control Actuation Systems (PAS) / Space / Marine Lines of Business. The role requires a background in Mechanical Test Equipment Engineering with demonstrated ability in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying Special & Peculiar Automated Test Equipment. Key applications include Power Distribution, Motor Controls, and Actuation Device interfaces. The position also involves Test Equipment Documentation and Drafting, requiring strong competencies in ATE practices and user interfaces. A strong emphasis on team cohesion is necessary. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME).
  • 2+ years of formal ATE mechanical development experience.
  • High level of expertise in the ATE specialty domain.
  • Demonstrated ability in all mechanical aspects of Test Station, ITA, Cable and Interconnect Diagram design, Requirements review, and TE Validation.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Knowledge of Mil/ASME/ISO Standards.
  • Familiarity with machining / manufacturing processes, materials/finishes, thermal calculations/management.
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCad, Visio, CREO/Pro-E.

  • Experience in PCB layout and routing.
  • Experience in ANSYS Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Development of Test Stations, ITAs, Interface Adaptors, Cables, Fixtures, and Load Rigs for manual and automated Test Equipment.
  • Support DVT testing, Qual testing, ATP testing, and ESS testing.
  • Create TE Rack Assembly Drawings, Interconnect Diagrams, and Parts Lists.
  • Prepare for Design Reviews (TE SRR, TE CDR, TE Validation).
  • Manage Configuration, perform Estimating, and assemble Technical Presentation packages.
  • Collaborate closely with the new product development team for Prime Mission Equipment from Development and Rapid Prototyping through Production.
