About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer will develop and support product designs, create and maintain engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and testing challenges. Responsibilities include mechanical design, prototyping, analysis, design verification, and supporting the transition of products from development to production. What You Will Do: Develop designs, documentation creation and modification, production support Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team to develop solutions to production and field testing problems. This could include initial design, prototyping, and environment testing solutions. Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements Design of test stations, fixtures, cables, interconnects and associated documentation Perform tolerance analysis Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers Plan and manage tasks effectively Facilitate documentation and drawings of mechanical designs from inception through release Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and production transition to the factory. What You Will Learn Design and Documentation of Functional Test Equipment in support of Avionics Products Translation of Test Requirements to Functional Testing and supporting Equipment How to plan and manage timelines for designs through full project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Knowledge of NX Designer, Solidworks, or common fabrication practices (subtractive and additive)
  • Demonstrated practical experience with mechanical engineering design
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to translate requirements into physical design
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with various engineering teams comprised of other mechanical engineers, mechanical drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers and system engineers.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented and be able to excel in a team environment
  • Familiar with Collins or Avionics products
  • Mechanical test equipment design experience
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively communicate design choices
