About The Position

This entry- to mid-level position provides controls support to MEP design teams and develops and maintains libraries of controls documents. The primary focus is providing controls-related engineering support for MEP design teams as they develop building automation and control system designs. The role involves designing mechanical control systems across a variety of applications, producing project and system documentation and controls-specific drawings, and developing and maintaining company standards and document libraries. It also incorporates industry standards into internal controls design.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field from an EAC/ABET-accredited university, or equivalent experience.
1–5 years of experience in the MEP industry.
Familiarity with CAD and BIM tools, including Revit.
Proven ability to design and develop mechanical control systems.
Proven ability to interpret and generate controls-specific technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Technical understanding of HVAC systems and controls strategies.
Familiarity with the MEP industry.
Familiarity with BMS/BAS programming techniques and network design.
Familiarity with common controls communication protocols, such as BACnet.
Familiarity with controls field wiring standards.
Ability to engage with clients.
Communication, team collaboration, problem-solving, and accountability competencies.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical control systems for a variety of applications.
Develop project and system documentation in accordance with industry standards, including specifications and sequences of operation.
Develop controls-specific engineering drawings and diagrams.
Develop and maintain company standards of practice related to controls.
Develop and maintain standard controls document libraries.
Incorporate industry standards into internal controls design.
