About The Position

Join WSP’s Buildings M&E team as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in Winnipeg. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical building systems that support safe, sustainable, and resilient communities. Reporting to the M&E Team Manager, you’ll collaborate within a growing, high‑performing multi‑disciplinary team and support projects from design development through to construction‑ready documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed in the province of Manitoba, or eligibility to obtain
  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering design experience within a consulting environment, ideally focused on building systems.
  • Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems for buildings and similar facilities.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD in a building design context.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian codes, standards, and best practices related to mechanical building systems.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to work effectively within evolving teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to design, model, and coordinate mechanical building systems including HVAC, ventilation, hydronics, controls, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.
  • Develop and model mechanical systems using Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring coordination and constructability.
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical details from design development through issued‑for‑construction packages.
  • Contribute within integrated, multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality building solutions.
  • Participate in collaborative design‑assist environments, liaising with mechanical trade contractors as required.
  • Prepare and review drawings and technical documentation to support construction delivery.
  • Uphold WSP’s standards for safety, sustainability, and technical excellence.
