We are looking for a Building Mechanical EIT to support the Buildings group in Vancouver with the design and drafting of building mechanical systems for an array of different building types in institutional, commercial and municipal infrastructure.

Requirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of Revit Building Systems and AutoCAD 2D
  • The ability to adapt to and adhere to internal and external REVIT/CAD and design standards
  • Registered (or eligible to register as) member of the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Available to work outside of the office on an occasional basis
  • Valid Canadian drivers license with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Design, modeling and drafting of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building plumbing systems, fire protection systems, and HVAC control systems, using the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Implementing redline markups from engineers.
  • Working with engineers to ensure that all aspects of the design are coordinated with other disciplines.
  • Design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.
  • Occasional site visits to survey existing conditions and to document ongoing construction.
  • Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.
