About the position
As a senior mechanical engineer at Neuralink, you will be responsible for designing and producing hardware solutions for brain-computer interface devices. This includes working on surgical robotics, automation, microfabrication, and more. You will have the opportunity to own projects from concept to production and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, biologists, and engineers. The role involves tackling challenges in surgical robotics and scaling the impact of brain surgery.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce hardware solutions for brain-computer interface devices
- Own projects from concept to production
- Collaborate with neuroscientists, biologists, and engineers to determine design criteria and build systems
- Tackle challenges in surgical robotics, such as reducing surgery time and developing precision geometries
- Scale from hundreds to millions of surgeries
- Find and define problems, and deliver manufacturable solutions
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively
- Have a strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Have experience with conventional machining, rapid prototyping, precision design and manufacturing, and advanced imaging techniques
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering, or equivalent in experience and ability
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience, including owning products from concept to production
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Experience with conventional machining and rapid prototyping technologies (preferred)
- Experience with precision design and manufacturing (preferred)
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques (preferred)
