Onto InnovationMilpitas, CA
$108,000 - $162,000

About The Position

Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, combining global scale with an expanded portfolio of leading-edge technologies that include: 3D metrology spanning the chip from nanometer-scale transistors to micron-level die-interconnects; macro defect inspection of wafers and packages; metal interconnect composition; factory analytics; and lithography for advanced semiconductor packaging. Our breadth of offerings across the entire semiconductor value chain helps our customers solve their most difficult yield, device performance, quality, and reliability issues. Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient. This role involves following the established Onto Innovation product development process from concept development through to manufacturing release and sustaining of capital equipment for the semiconductor industry. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical design using precision components and custom-designed components in complex electro-mechanical systems. This includes design analysis such as tolerance analysis and finite element analysis, ensuring designs meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements. The position also requires participation in prototype builds, system-level characterization, validation, and compliance testing. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical support to sales and service teams and communicate concepts, plans, status, proposals, and designs effectively to hardware and software team members. A key responsibility is applying applicable design principles and ensuring compliance with SEMI, CE, FCC, UL, and other relevant standards.
