About The Position

Net2Source Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 for a 2-year contract position with possible extension in Mossville, Illinois. This role involves utilizing analytical techniques, including 1-D and 3-D simulation tools, to support electrification projects and cooling performance simulations for diesel-powered applications. The engineer will conduct 1-D system simulations for sizing and component selection, as well as high-end Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for virtual design and validation. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with product development teams, design partners, system partners, and validation partners to meet program deliverables and timelines. The role also includes conducting application-specific cooling system analysis projects, developing cooling system layouts, component selection, sizing, and optimizing cooling air and water systems. The engineer will collaborate with design partners to meet technical and regulatory requirements, perform component CFD to determine performance characteristics, develop CFD models for airflow through cooling packages and underhood thermal predictions, and correlate analysis models with test data. Additionally, the role involves assisting in resolving cooling-related field problems and contributing to improvements in simulation methods and processes, as well as establishing technical requirements and specifications for new products.

Requirements

  • Strong background in thermo-sciences (courses in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer).
  • 2+ years of experience using Fluent, 1-D analysis tools (i.e., GT-Suite) and Creo.
  • Working knowledge of engine, lubrication/ powertrain cooling and/or electrification systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, and process partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Master or Doctorate degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Aerospace engineering.
