Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls. This role involves the diagnosis of issues, configuration and operation of data acquisition systems, analysis and interpretation of data, and the creation of computer programs to assist in these processes. The technician will also configure engine test programs, interpret results, make adjustments, document findings, and maintain electronic files. Responsibilities include performing rig, engine, and component builds, tear downs, and inspections, as well as grading and measuring components. The role requires fabricating necessary piping, tubing, and brackets, and installing engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs. The technician will use common tools such as Calterm, Asset, and Cyflex. Additionally, they will design, document, and execute test plans, provide input for test plan creation, and prepare test reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The position requires adherence to company and department rules, training apprentices and technicians, and interfacing with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions. Coordination of programs, including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking, is also a key aspect. Participation in the maintenance of quality procedures, leading and participating in improvement projects, and developing and giving presentations are expected. The role also mandates strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures and demonstration of required confidentiality. Participation in self- and team-audits and associated corrective actions is required, along with performing other miscellaneous duties as needed.
