Requirements
- Mechanical engineering experience with BESS, power electronics, or thermal-critical enclosures.
- Engineered thermal management validated by test.
- Knowledge of safety codes shaping storage siting, such as NFPA 855, and design to them.
- Ability to evaluate vendor equipment beyond the brochure.
- Experience supporting field deployment of designs.
Nice To Haves
- Lithium-ion thermal behavior.

Responsibilities
- Engineer mechanical design for energy storage: BESS enclosures, thermal management, and site integration behind the meter.
- Own thermal design: cooling for containers and enclosures across climates, validated rather than vendored.
- Integrate storage mechanically into the campus: pads, clearances, fire separation, and service access engineered.
- Review vendor systems hard: what the datasheet claims versus what the fleet will live with.
