Electrical Engineer, BTM, R&D

FluidstackAustin, TX
$203,000 - $232,000

About The Position

Fluidstack exists to make humanity more free by delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. We are rethinking every layer of the stack, acquiring power, designing and building data centers, and operating them with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. We are looking for individuals who care deeply about this problem space and are motivated to build civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. Our operating principles include extreme ownership, full autonomy, velocity, first principles thinking, and a passion for the work.

Requirements

  • Engineered electrical systems for power generation, microgrids, or utility-scale storage.
  • Designed generator interconnections and the studies behind them.
  • Understand islanded operation and what it does to protection and stability.
  • Integrated inverter-based resources with rotating machines.
  • Taken plant designs through commissioning.

Nice To Haves

  • Microgrid controls.
  • Grid codes and interconnection standards.
  • PSCAD or PSSE.
  • BESS electrical design.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer the electrical side of behind-the-meter generation: collection, interconnection, and integration with the data center.
  • Design the electrical balance of plant: generator connections, transformers, and switchgear for fast-build plants.
  • Run the studies for islanded and grid-parallel operation: stability, grounding, and protection coordination.
  • Integrate storage and generation electrically into one controllable campus system.

Benefits

  • Pay equity and transparency.
