About The Position

The Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector I is responsible for the performance of routine mechanical inspections per the technical documentation provided using pre-trained/determined methods to determine product acceptability. This role involves collecting and reviewing inspection data to ensure component integrity and investigating/resolving discrepancies found during part inspection. The inspector will locate appropriate programs, load components into inspection equipment, run basic inspection programs, and report results. They will identify features for inspection and correctly assign dimensional values and tolerances specified in print to a given feature. Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position. The role may require working in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs, and may require working overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs. Miscellaneous duties will be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with and basic understanding of GD&T symbology assigned per ASME Y14.5.
• Fluent in setup of simple parts and understanding of proper use of basic mechanical inspection equipment.
• Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
• Expected to contribute in primary areas of inspection for which training has been provided.
• Strong time management skills.
• Communicate effectively to supervision verbally and in written format regarding problems and corrective action.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
