About The Position

Examines castings for conformance to engineering drawings and related documents for dimensional accuracy. This position involves examining castings for conformity to design/drafting standards, performing all work according to written work procedures, and verbal and written instruction. The role requires dimensionally examining castings, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools, as well as measuring equipment. It also involves verifying that all devices requiring calibration and measurement meet the required criteria, performing visual inspection of parts and equipment to ensure conformance to quality standards, and identifying non-conformance. The inspector will record the quantity of material approved and rejected on route cards and determine actions to take when problems occur, knowing where to find the necessary resources.

Requirements

• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient knowledge of using English and Metric Systems of measurement.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve.
• Ability to communicate on all levels.
• Superior attention to detail and precision skills required.
• Ability to document and coordinate corrective measures.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills required.
• 2 years’ work experience may be substituted for education.
