About The Position

We’re hiring a Mechanical Designer for our West Houston area client! We are looking for experienced, reliable, hard-working employees who can interview immediately! This is a temp-to-hire position with a pay rate of $32–$36/hr. DOE, working Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus a degree or certificate in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in mechanical design, technical development, manufacturing, distribution, or field service environments.
  • Strong skills in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD, including 3D modeling and creation of detailed production and layout drawings.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, metals, plastics, and related materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams required.
  • Valid driver's license and valid passport, or ability to obtain one, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing design experience preferred.
  • Experience with technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and project coordination preferred.
  • SAP or other ERP/CRM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs, 3D models, production drawings, and bills of materials to support customer applications and engineering projects.
  • Partner with Engineering, Service, Sales, and other internal teams to develop practical and cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Create customized designs while following applicable industry standards and product guidelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation and maintain drawings, part numbers, and project information within company systems.
  • Support quoting and order activities by providing technical information and application guidance.
  • Assist with project implementation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean and Quality Management activities and support improvements within production and warehouse operations.
