About The Position

The Mechanical Designer, described in the posting as an MCAD technician, works under the technological supervision of engineers to create 3D models and engineering drawings. As a project team member, the technician completes regular MCAD drafting tasks and coordinates project timelines with engineers and the Engineering Manager. The role delivers complete, appropriate, and accurate drawings with related documentation.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a Mechanical Design degree.
• Typically have 1–2 years of mechanical design experience.
• Have sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
• Have good computer, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Have a good understanding of 3D modeling processes.
• Have a good understanding of PDM systems and how they are used.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills and creative flair.
• Be able to meet fixed deadlines and work as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models, drawings, and other tasks as needed by engineers or team members.
• Actively support the collective efforts of the project team.
• Perform CAD assignments in accordance with company standards.
• Enter data into PDM systems as needed.
• Assist with preparation required for final mechanical reviews.
• Maintain ongoing communication with engineers regarding engineering issues.
