About The Position

The Mechanical Designer (MCAD technician) creates 3D models and engineering drawings under the technological supervision of engineers. As a project team member, the designer carries out regular MCAD drafting tasks and coordinates project timelines with engineers and the Engineering Manager. The role is responsible for delivering complete, appropriate, and accurate drawings with related documentation. The position is onsite, with an expectation that the employee primarily works from an HPE office.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Mechanical Design degree.
• Typically 1–2 years of mechanical design experience.
• Sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
• Good computer, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Good understanding of 3D modeling processes.
• Good understanding of PDM systems and how they are used.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and creative flair.
• Ability to meet fixed deadlines and work as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models, drawings, and other tasks as requested by engineers or team members.
• Contribute actively to the project team’s collective effort.
• Perform CAD assignments in accordance with company standards.
• Enter data into PDM systems as needed.
• Assist with preparation required for final mechanical reviews.
• Maintain ongoing communication with engineers about engineering issues.
• Coordinate project timelines with engineers and the Engineering Manager.
