About The Position

SitelogIQ is a rapidly growing company focused on making buildings better. We provide planning, design, and management solutions for organizations that want efficient and sustainable building environments that are healthier and safer for their occupants. Our Mechanical Designer II will work out of our Midwest Division, located in Edina, Minnesota. As a Mechanical Designer III on the Design team at SitelogIQ you will work directly with a project team to design building Mechanical systems which meet the design intent, budget, and schedule of the client. You will be the primary system designer, directing other designers and consulting with the Engineer of Record, to successfully complete construction documents. Some travel will be required within the Midwest region. This travel may include but is not limited to client meetings, site visits, field verifications, and building assessments. The salary range is $85,000-$110,000. The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in drafting, design or technology of building systems.
  • 4 years of experience with design and/or modeling of building Mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit modeling software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software.
  • Motivated to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience with design of plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Specialized industry certification (e.g. LEED-AP)
  • Experience with design of K-12 schools.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Works on small to medium projects or portions of larger projects with limited guidance.
  • Able to maintain status of multiple projects and tasks concurrently, following up as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Ability to design and analyze basic Mechanical systems.
  • Prepares project documents and engineering deliverables.
  • Performs survey, research and investigations of existing facilities
  • Performs routine construction administration work including site observations, RFIs and submittal review.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards applicable to their discipline and project types.
  • Assists in determining schedule and personnel requirements for discipline on projects.
