About The Position

Receive sketches, descriptions (verbal or written), or conceptual CAD input and design complete mechanical equipment and mechanical features of electronic equipment for end‑item projects. Participate in design for proposals, 3‑D printing, IRAD, prototypes, or engineering development. Prepare calculations, layouts, details, and assemblies—including 3‑D models, 2‑D drawings, parts lists, and bills of material—to ensure designs meet ASME drafting, modeling, and drawing requirements and adhere to company standards for simplicity, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness. Sign off drawings as the party responsible for drafting accuracy and review the work of other drafting personnel. Operate computer‑aided design tools as required. Direct work performed on the assignment by other drafting personnel. Perform minor electrical drafting related to mechanical design when needed. Participate in the resolution of problem reports. Write, review, and incorporate change requests at the direction of Engineering and/or management.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an Associate program in Mechanical Design/Drafting or related field and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards and experience in 2D and 3D drafting checking and verification
  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design
  • Ability to work remotely
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design using PTC Creo
  • Experience in 2D design using AutoCAD
  • Experience maintaining datasets using PTC Windchill
