About The Position

The Mechanical Designer 3 works under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead and contributes to multidisciplinary engineering and design teams developing mechanical general arrangements, piping isometrics, pipe supports, and mechanical equipment layouts in a 3D model. The role uses Hexagon SmartPlant S3D modeling software and the SPF database to produce mechanical design deliverables, bills of material, and commodity lists, and interprets piping and instrumentation diagrams developed using SPID to create physical designs consistent with engineering requirements. The designer leads coordination of detailed design phases across the integrated mechanical design model, resolves model clashes and discrepancies, and coordinates with and guides other designers and project team members to deliver complete work on time. The position also independently plans and executes mechanical deliverables and mentors less experienced drafters and designers. The work schedule is hybrid, with time split between the office and working remotely from home.
