This position supports a multidisciplinary engineering and design project team developing mechanical equipment location, piping layout, and pipe support deliverables for nuclear power projects. The role participates in 3D model reviews and detailed design coordination for integrated mechanical design. It uses 3D modeling tools to lay out equipment, piping, components, and supports while maintaining spatial clearances, constructability, accessibility, and operations and maintenance requirements. The drafter coordinates with other design disciplines, mechanical equipment vendors, piping stress engineers, and structural engineers.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and two or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proficiency with 3D integrated plant modeling design software tools.
  • Proficiency with 3D MicroStation or 3D AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in reading spreadsheets created from the 3D model.
  • Ability to interface with engineering and design teams from other disciplines during the project design process.

Nice To Haves
