About The Position

The Mechanical Designer 3 develops mechanical design deliverables for nuclear power projects as part of multidisciplinary engineering and design teams. Under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead, the role produces general arrangement, piping isometric, pipe support, and mechanical equipment layout drawings in a 3-D model, using Hexagon SmartPlant S3D and the SPF database. The position has a hybrid work schedule, with time spent both in the office and working remotely from home. The designer coordinates detailed design phases for integrated mechanical models, resolves model clashes and discrepancies, and works with engineering, design, and SmartPlant administration teams to help ensure complete, accurate, and timely deliverables. The role also includes independently planning and executing mechanical design work and mentoring less experienced drafters and designers.

Requirements

  • Experience with SmartPlant S3D, including integration aspects of SPID, SPF, and S3D.
  • Experience resolving clashes and checking discrepancies between deliverables.
  • Proficiency with design software tools for executing 3-D plant layout models.
  • Experience reviewing project deliverables and drawing requirements.
  • Experience reviewing vendor drawings and interface points.
  • Ability to work with engineering and design teams from other disciplines in the plant design process.
  • U.S. work authorization; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for this position.
