About The Position

InnoTECH Staffing is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to participate in developing innovative medical devices. This onsite role is based in the Manchester, New Hampshire area and requires working onsite five days per week. The engineer will work on a team that drives products through their lifecycle, including concept generation, prototyping, component and assembly development, testing, and associated documentation. The role involves managing multiple sub-assembly designs simultaneously with a reasonable level of guidance and support, and working effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience with mechanical design for manufacturability in a high-precision, high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Organizational and coordination skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple activities.
• High energy, drive, commitment, self-initiative, and perseverance to drive projects to completion.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively.
• Ability to communicate technically with a variety of engineering disciplines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mechanical design for manufacturability in the medical-device industry.
• Experience with electromechanical devices with embedded software.
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding.
• Familiarity with die casting.
• Familiarity with metal injection molding.

Responsibilities

• Generate creative solutions to design problems and evaluate their viability based on factors such as risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight, and cost.
• Transition concepts into products using 3D CAD solid modeling; define requirements, select materials and processes, interact with suppliers and manufacturers, and document the development process.
• Troubleshoot design failure modes to identify root causes and develop quick, effective solutions.
• Coordinate with electrical, software, industrial design, controls, and other disciplines in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Evaluate designs through prototype testing and requirement verification.
• Review and approve mechanical component and assembly designs, analyses, and testing.
• Demonstrate excellent mechanical engineering practices and provide mentorship to less knowledgeable engineers.
