About The Position
The Mechanical Design Engineer position is a member of the Electrical Hardware Development team at MTS Systems. The team is responsible for developing and supporting a wide range of electrical products focused on high performance motion control and precision data acquisition.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and 3D modeling
- Hands-on experience with building mechanical prototypes
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD or Altium
- Experience with reading schematics and datasheets
- Experience with Test Method Validation, Design of Experiment (DoE)
Responsibilities
- System cable and controller chassis design, build, and test
- Interface with vendors and CM partners for prototyping
- Generate documentation (Assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.) required for manufacturing and assembly
