Development of engineering design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions (ZACS) standards of quality. This role involves providing technical support for various seating programs, conducting feasibility studies for proposals and statements of work, and developing design data for manufacturing, assembly, and installation of aircraft seating assemblies and components. The position also includes performing fastener selections, tolerance studies, weight and cost assessments, and preliminary engineering analysis. A key aspect is reviewing and mentoring less experienced Design Engineers, interfacing with other ZACS departments, and attending design review meetings. The role requires providing technical support to Manufacturing during production and to customers during seat installation. Developing expertise in aircraft seat design concepts and industry standards, supporting other Engineering groups, and adhering to ZACS internal policies are also essential. The engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of department procedures and represent ZACS professionally to external agencies. Complex design tasks will be handled with limited assistance.
