About The Position

MCW is currently looking for a self-motivated Mechanical Construction Administrator to join our Moncton Office. You will act as the primary point of contact for MCW throughout the course of construction. Working on multiple projects concurrently. This position plays a key role in managing MCW’s mechanical engineering projects by attending site meetings, providing feedback, while maintaining a respectful relationship with Developers, Clients, Architects, General Contractors, Sub Trades and Suppliers. Requirements

  • Educational or trade background in mechanical construction design practices, knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Air Balancing, water, mechanical & fire systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with other departments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Team and client-focused
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible
  • Good working knowledge of current construction practices, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, air balancing, water, mechanical & fire systems.
  • Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Must have vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building inspection is a definite asset.
  • 2+ years in an administrator / coordinator role an asset.
  • Design background is considered and asset.
  • Experience in building inspection.
  • AutoCAD or Revit experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project site meetings as scheduled.
  • Travel to site and perform field reviews on various mechanical installations.
  • Travel to project locations. Travel can be 1 day or up to 2-3 days.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the builder for any project-related questions/requests.
  • Understand project specifications and objectives.
  • Review project documents in advance of tender to identify gaps or other issues.
  • Proactively identify potential issues.
  • Report on milestone dates and deliverables.
  • Respond to field issues and questions with engineering and other resources as required.
  • Investigate claims promptly and resolve them fairly.
  • Proactive approach to change orders.
  • Liaise with Architect, Client, Contractor, Owner, Specialty Consultants, Project Manager, Job Captain and Project Engineer.
  • Complete time critical reports including Request for Information, Contemplated Revisions, Change Orders, Field Review, Pricing Review, Progress Claim Review
  • Review Contractor shop drawings submittals for conformance to specifications in a timely manner.
  • Issue and sign off on Site Deficiency Reports, verify and accept As Built Drawings and Operational and Maintenance Manuals and ensure all required information has been received prior to issuance of Closing Letters.
  • Provide customer service levels that meet or exceed customers' expectations.
  • Actively work on 20 – 30 projects simultaneously
