CANDU Energy Inc./AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking qualified Intermediate Mechanical Designers to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants. This position requires working on fast-paced, technically complex projects in the Nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following: Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Prepare three-dimensional computer models using Smart 3D and resolve interferences. Prepare intelligent P&IDs using Smart P&ID. Create Piping isometrics, general equipment layout drawings, general arrangements, material take-off lists, reports etc. Prepare engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc./Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements. Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance. Interface with Engineering teams throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.
