About The Position

Our client, an international manufacturing organization with headquarters in WNY, is looking to hire a Mechanical CAD Designer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, direct hire, 100% in-office position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience creating production drawings, manufacturing drawings, and/or engineered equipment designs
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for Parts, Assemblies, Weldments, Sheet metal, & Drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
  • Strong organizational & time management skills
  • Self-motivated, but collaborative and team oriented
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HVAC systems, hydronic systems, and/or industrial mechanical products is a plus
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering technology, Mechanical Design, or related preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed manufacturing, assembly, piping, fabrication, and weld drawings
  • Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and complete production drawing packages for mechanical systems utilizing SolidWorks
  • Create General Arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layout, and installation drawings that will support site and production requirements
  • Manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing revisions, and engineering records
  • Ensure consistency between P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and 3D models at all times
  • Maintain controlled engineering documentation within PDM/PLM systems, ensuring revision accuracy and traceability
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure all drawings meet company drafting standards, quality requirements, and maintain compliance with applicable industry codes—providing CAD expertise to increase production efficiency and product quality
  • Update drawings and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Production & Manufacturing teams to review and resolve design, drawing, and assembly-related issues
  • Utilize Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Review vendor equipment data and supplier drawings to ensure accurate implementation into production drawing packages
  • Support prototype builds, production enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure project readiness & documentation accuracy
  • Deliver engineering documentation in support of project schedules and proactively resolve drawing-related issues
  • Communicate design updates and documentation changes effectively across project stakeholders
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary
