About The Position

Fike Corporation is hiring an entry-level Mechanical Assembly Operator Trainee to train and assist primary operators, with a focus on processing and packaging clean-agent containers. The role emphasizes learning and development. The position starts at $20 per hour, with compensation based on the candidate’s experience. The operator packages and assembles clean-agent containers and valve assemblies, handles products using lifting devices, and completes work-order reporting and documentation. The role also includes learning Fike’s International Business System, preparing non-conformance reports as needed in Intelex, following safety and quality procedures, and supporting the 6S initiative. Regular and consistent attendance is required. The work takes place in a temperature-controlled environment. Employees are regularly exposed to compressed gases and powdered suppressants while using appropriate personal protective equipment. Noise is usually moderate. The role requires frequent standing and the ability to lift 50 pounds and move loads of 100 pounds or more with appropriate moving devices. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and follow standard procedure instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings.
Exposure to hand tools and mechanical measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
Mechanical dexterity and aptitude.
Computer understanding.
Housekeeping and teamwork skills.
Ability to properly lift 50 pounds and move loads of 100 pounds or more using appropriate moving devices.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent standing and walking and regular use of hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience, or vocational school training.
Subject matter exposure.

Responsibilities

Package clean-agent containers for shipment according to bills of material or load plans for domestic and international shipments.
Use lifting devices, including chain hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts, to handle products.
Learn the Fike International Business System.
Assemble 1-inch and 3-inch Impulse valve assemblies for installation into clean-agent containers.
Assemble clean-agent containers according to work orders, standard procedure instructions, and drawings.
Prepare non-conformance reports as needed in Intelex.
Complete required work-order reporting, transactions, and documentation.
Follow safety practices and procedures and support the 6S initiative.
Follow Fike policies and procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
