About The Position

Valmet is hiring a Mechanical Assembler at its Federal Way, Washington facility. This second-shift role involves assembling and disassembling gearboxes, installing, aligning, adjusting, and fitting subassemblies, and setting up and operating boring bar, drill press, milling, and honing machines. The position requires experience with large, heavy manufacturing equipment, safe and efficient operation of overhead cranes and forklifts, and effective use of inspection methods and tools. The assembler is expected to understand the importance of quality, consistently provide a quality product, and strive for improvement. Employment offers are contingent upon a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.

Requirements

• High school education.
• Previous manufacturing experience; ideally three to five years.
• Experience working with large, heavy manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Ability to apply inspection techniques, including formalized inspection standards, inspection instructions, and best practices, and to use inspection tools efficiently.
• Understanding of how quality impacts organizational success.
