About The Position

Performs assembly of compressor packages and prepares the finished unit for shipment by performing the following duties. Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications, and plans machine assembly operation. Verifies conformance of parts to blueprints. Attaches slings to parts or components to move into position with a crane for assembly. Aligns components for assembly and bolts parts together. Torques bolts to specifications. Stamps, paints or otherwise identifies piping and other components to facilitate ease of reassembly. With crane assist, removes piping from the compressor, engine, cooler and pressure vessels. Pressure washes and otherwise prepares Compressor Package for painting. Covers certain items with masking tape in preparation for painting. Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
