About The Position

Mako Industries is seeking a Boilermaker / Heavy Mechanical Assembler that will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining heavy mechanical equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, boilers, and industrial machinery. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, perform mechanical assembly, operate fabrication tools, and work safely in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy equipment assembly, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy mechanical assembly, boilermaking, fabrication, industrial maintenance, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and levels.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, rigging practices, and industrial assembly techniques.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG, FCAW, or Stick).
  • NCCER, AWS, or Boilermaker certification.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, transformers, industrial equipment, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification.
  • Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, and install heavy mechanical components, structural assemblies, tanks, vessels, and industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, bolting, rigging, and installation of equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and lifting equipment.
  • Inspect components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, forklords, and material handling equipment as required.
  • Assist with welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication activities when needed.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments on assembled equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while following OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, engineers, and production personnel to meet production schedules.
