Mechanical and Piping Insulator
About The Position
RQ Construction is looking to hire several skilled Mechanical and Piping Insulators for projects at Kings Bay Naval Base in Georgia and surrounding areas. The role involves installing insulation on piping, duct systems, and mechanical equipment to control temperature and improve system performance. Candidates must have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, be proficient with industry tools, and adhere to safety guidelines. RQ Construction, founded in 1996, specializes in Design-Build solutions for commercial and government clients, with a focus on fast-track, ground-up construction, primarily for the Department of Defense sector.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience (or equivalent) working as a journey-level mechanical piping insulator in commercial construction or facility operations
- All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
- All candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an apprenticeship program (union, military, trade school, or company-sponsored) that combines classroom instruction with hands-on training is strongly preferred
- Experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial construction projects is preferred
