About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking skilled Mechanical and Piping Insulators for projects at Kings Bay Naval Base in Georgia and surrounding areas. This role involves installing insulation on piping, duct systems, and mechanical equipment to manage temperature and improve system performance. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, proficiency with industry tools, and adherence to safety guidelines. Work is performed on a military base and paid according to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience (or equivalent) working as a journey-level mechanical piping insulator in commercial construction or facility operations.
Proficiency with industry tools and equipment.
Ability to consistently follow established safety guidelines.
Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization.
Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check for access to job site at military base.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an apprenticeship program (union, military, trade school, or company-sponsored) that combines classroom instruction with hands-on training is strongly preferred.
Experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial construction projects is preferred.
