About The Position

MV Transportation is hiring an experienced Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnosis, service, and repair of vehicle systems and components, including steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems. The successful candidate must work safely, analyze damaged parts, and assist with inventory control or other duties as needed. The position offers a 40-hour workweek, with overtime as needed beyond 40 hours. The starting pay rate is $35.58 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one to two years of combined apprentice-level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics; this may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.
Must be able to work safely.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, examine, and investigate vehicles to determine the causes of defective operation in vehicle systems and components.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on vehicles.
Perform major and minor repairs on defective components.
Document activities in MV’s Fleet Management System.
Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
Perform part analysis on damaged parts and assist with inventory control or other duties as needed.
Safely service and repair steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems.
