About The Position

MV Transportation is hiring experienced Mechanics to perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, service, and repair of vehicle systems and components. The role includes working safely, analyzing damaged parts, assisting with inventory control, and completing other duties as necessary. Mechanics document their activities in MV’s Fleet Management System and maintain an organized, safe work environment. The position offers a schedule of 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed beyond 40 hours. The starting pay rate is $35.58 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
A combination of at least one to two years of apprentice-level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics; this may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, examine, and investigate vehicles to determine causes of defective operation in vehicle systems and components.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles.
Perform major and minor repairs of defective components.
Service and repair steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems.
Document all activities in MV’s Fleet Management System.
Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
Work safely and perform part analysis on damaged parts.
Assist with inventory control and other duties as necessary.
