About The Position

MV Transportation is hiring experienced Mechanics to perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on vehicle systems and components, including steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning. The role requires safe work practices, analysis of damaged parts, and assistance with inventory control or other duties as needed.

The position offers $37 per hour and 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed beyond 40 hours. Paid training is available to obtain the required CDL Class B.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A combination of at least one to two years of verifiable apprentice-level training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics; this may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
• CDL Class B required; paid training is available to obtain it.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, examine, and investigate vehicles to identify causes of defective operation in vehicle systems and components.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles.
• Perform major and minor repairs on defective components.
• Document activities in MV’s Fleet Management System.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
• Work safely and perform analysis of damaged parts.
• Assist with inventory control and other duties as necessary.
