About The Position

Maintain company equipment at customer locations or breakdown locations to ensure safe and efficient operation. The role performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company equipment, including responding to drivers’ emergency breakdown calls. The work takes place in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The position description does not guarantee ongoing employment or employment for a definite term; absent an enforceable written contract, employment is at-will.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience as a technician or diesel technician.
Knowledge of shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
Perform safety inspections in accordance with FMCSA 49 CFR 396.
Diagnose and repair minor engine issues using manufacturer-specific software systems.
Repair or replace brakes, wheel seals, suspension parts, and coupling devices.
Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic issues.
Repair or replace chassis, suspension, and axle components, including air bags, shocks, brakes, ABS modules, air tanks, and lines.
Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door seals, wall panels, and roof panels.
Perform general repairs to company equipment.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Partner with drivers, dispatchers, and leadership to perform needed repairs, maintenance, inspections, or troubleshooting of service issues.
Receive road-service calls and assist drivers during emergency breakdowns.
Comply with company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership and the customer.
