Assists in the repair and tracking of on-site equipment, vehicles and machinery. This role involves assisting in the auto shop for daily assignments and duties, receiving training to advance the auto shop’s skill set with vehicles and equipment, and possessing the willingness to repair Forest Home vehicles, equipment, and machinery. The position utilizes CMMS for work order management, tracking, and completion of all requests. It is also responsible for keeping inventory and tools organized and in good condition. The role requires the ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions and may involve assisting in snow removal and other tasks as assigned, including after normal work hours. Additionally, the mechanic monitors vehicle registrations, smog certificates, servicing, and maintenance records to ensure compliance and timeliness, and performs in assigned areas related to the CMMS. The role ensures facilities are in safe working condition, reports potential safety issues, and recommends appropriate changes. It also ensures tools and maintenance equipment are in working order and keeps maintenance buildings clean and organized. The mechanic operates different tools and equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, etc., in a safe manner and complies with factory specifications in relation to equipment and material, assuring all materials are handled according to factory recommendations and training.
